Fashion Moment: MAC Giambattista Flower Obsession Ball in Paris

MAC Cosmetics and Giambattista Valli brought in Couture Week with a bang, hosting the “Flower Obsession Ball” at the gorgeous Palais Garnier in Paris.  The elegant venue was filled to the brim with blooms, from projected roses on the exterior of the building to an extravagant wall of flowers in the main stairwell. Many of the guests in attendance reflected the event’s theme in their attire, too, seizing the opportunity to don Valli’s latest designs.

The Flower Obsession Ball celebrated the launch of Giambattista Valli’s capsule collection with MAC, now available in the cosmetics brand’s stores for a limited time. The collaboration marks the first time MAC has ever worked with a fashion designer, but the results are nothing short of stunning.

The collection features a line of lipsticks, created in colors that recur in Valli’s fashion – the designer’s favorite hues. Drawing his inspiration from real women, Valli named the shades after Charlotte Casiraghi, Margherita Missoni, Tatiana Santo Domingo, Eugénie Niarchos and Bianca Brandolini d’Adda. The idea for the collection is to “dress your lips in Giambattista Valli,” said the designer. “There is nothing more revolutionary in a woman’s wardrobe than changing the color of your lips. It changes totally your look and the look of your clothes.”
