Olympia Le-Tan has quite a fashionable history behind her. As a true fashion it-girl, she got her creative start at art school in Paris. From there, she worked with Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel, and then briefly for Balmain. Inspired, she started her own line of handcrafted clutches and handbags.
Her clutches, minaudieres, and handbags first made the scene with her literary-inspired collection in 2009. The “You Can’t Judge A Book By Its Cover” collection recreated her favorite classic books in a 40s and 50s-esque style to embellish handcrafted clutches.
A quick fashion industry and celebrity favorite, her book-like accessories became the essential Olympia Le-Tan item both on the streets and for dressing for high-profile events.
Her runway collections also exhibits a lot of character. Starting in March 2012, she describes her clothing as “classic clothes with a twist.” The latest collection for Spring 2015 was inspired by posh schoolgirls, and her school uniform was a bold, feminine, and chic revision.
Her quirky and artful taste always inspires us. Designing clothing and handbags is the perfect outlet to share her talent with the creative world! We are excited to see how her new Paris boutique in Palais Royal turns out, and hope to visit it soon. Sounds like a dream come true.
