Outlined nails first appeared in bright pink and silver on the Chanel runway in 2012 (see below), and are making a comeback this year in more neutral tones. The effect of longer and more artistic nails can be achieved with this simple style, which you can replicate both in the salon and easily at home.
To create outlined nails, all you have to do is apply the outline color as a base coat (as you would with a basic manicure) and let dry. Then, to complete the manicure, apply a few layers of the second color on top, leaving space around the edges of your nail. For the second color, try to use a polish with a wider brush, for fewer, more even strokes. Finish off with a topcoat and you’re good to go!
