Metallic shimmer is a must-have this season, from cocktail dresses and clutches to makeup and more. Can’t get enough of that seductive sparkle? (Don’t worry, we can’t either!) For glimmer-addicts, flashtat nail art is the latest craze. And the best part is that the high-shine, intricate designs are a cinch to incorporate into your at-home mani or pedi. Try your hand at the flashtat nail art trend to add a feminine, and eye-catching, pop to any look.
Step 1: Begin with a Base Coat
Just like with any other manicure or pedicure, one involving flashtat nail art will benefit greatly from a base coat, so be sure not to skip this step. After you prime your nails, choose a solid shade of polish and apply two coats. Light hues such as white or pale pink and dark colors like black or navy work particularly well as a canvas for flashtat nail art.
Step 2: Create a Flashtat Design
After your nails have completely dried (they’ll smudge if they’re still wet!), it’s time to create your flashtat nail art design. Using flash tattoo decals in a metallic gold or silver, choose the pieces that you want to feature on your nails, carefully cutting them from the decal paper and sizing them to fit your nail. Peel the plastic layer from the tattoo and place it face down on your nail, using a pair of tweezers to carefully position it. Then, with a damp cloth or sponge, gently press down on the tattoo until the back of the paper is wet and the tattoo has fully adhered to the nail. Slowly pull off the paper with your tweezers to reveal your flashtat nail art design.
Step 3: Seal Your Final Look
After you have repeated the process with each nail, make sure you seal the fabulous finished product with a top coat of clear polish. This will ensure your dazzling flashtat nail art lasts as long as possible.
